The Micro Vault by Sony comes in more sizes than any other USB flash drive in this review. It ranges from 256 MB all of the way up to 4 GB. The Micro Vault 4 GB is the best buy for your money. However, overall Sony is more expensive than most of the other jump drives in this review.
The Micro Vault is pre-loaded with Virtual Expander, which allows you “to virtually store 3 times as much data.” When a file is dragged to or from the drive, it is automatically compressed and decompressed.
A standout feature of the Sony Micro Vault is the retractable USB connector. This protects the connector from damage and there is no cap to lose or break.
Sony offers ample help and support; there is a lot of online help documentation and you can contact customer support by phone or email. We were slightly disappointed that customer support wasn’t able to tell us the read and write speeds of the flash drive.
